AI literacy
What AI can and cannot do, how to use everyday AI tools well, and how to check what they produce.
Our social impact work teaches practical AI and digital skills to remote communities and not-for-profits, and opens our research to anyone who can build on it.

Social impact at Sovereign Systems Labs has three parts: AI and digital skills for remote communities and not-for-profits, open research with code shared on request, and work with donors and partners who fund more of both. Every programme is shaped with the community it serves.
Combined figures from our community programmes and projects in India and Australia.
Children and young people trained in technology and AI.
People reached by our community programmes and projects.
Communities we have worked with across India and Australia.
Technology moves quickly, and the people with the least access are often the last to benefit. We teach the skills that close that gap: practical, current and taught at a pace that suits each group, with care for the people learning them.

What AI can and cannot do, how to use everyday AI tools well, and how to check what they produce.

Devices, accounts, online services and cloud tools, at the pace each group needs.

Privacy, scams, misinformation and data protection, so new tools come with fewer new risks.

Practical technology and AI skills that help people find work, grow in it or start their own.

Simple automations, assistants and data practices that give staff and volunteers more time for the people they serve.

Community members equipped to keep teaching, so the skills stay when the sessions end.

We publish our research so developers, researchers, organisations and companies can read it, test it and build on it. There are 5 research papers so far, each a free PDF with a plain-English summary.
Can AI keep a secret? Differential privacy against membership inferenceOur latest research: on 3,000 synthetic patient records, differential privacy cut a membership inference attack from 72% to about 53%, close to guessing.
Quantum DevSecOps: a strategic framework and implementation guideQuantum threats to cryptography, the NIST post-quantum standards, a quantum-safe software lifecycle and a 12-week roadmap.
Estimating energies with the rodeo algorithmHow one extra qubit filters a quantum state to find energy levels, worked through on a five-site spin model with gate costs.
The rodeo algorithm in simulation: results, cost and limitsThe method built as gate-level circuits: all three energy levels found, what three compilers cost, and why noise and a classical computer still set the limits.
Manganese antioxidants and radiation resistanceA research summary of a 2022 study on why cells survive radiation, and why that protection fades with age.

Remote and regional communities, not-for-profit and non-profit organisations, and the people they serve. Tell us about your group and what you want to learn, and we will tell you plainly whether and how we can help.
Yes. Materials can be prepared for offline, low-bandwidth and mobile-first use, and our lab has built AI tools that run with no connection at all.
Yes, on request. Our papers are free to download, but code is not published on the site. Email contact@sovereignsystemslabs.com and tell us what you want to build, and we will share the code and algorithms with you directly, with the licence terms agreed before you use them.
Yes, within the licence terms we agree with you. For deeper work, such as a joint study, a prototype on your data or a production build, we agree the terms and the ownership of results up front.
Talk to us directly through the contact form or at contact@sovereignsystemslabs.com. We will explain what your gift can support, the steps to start, how it is recorded and what we can do with you in return, before you commit.
No. Sovereign Systems Labs is a technology company and is not registered as a charity, so gifts to us are not tax-deductible. What your contribution funds is agreed in writing before you commit.
How we report back is agreed in writing before you commit, and we tell you what your support made possible.
